On 18th November, Kalypso Media and developer Claymore Game Studios will be sending Commandos to Crete in Shadows Over Crete, the first DLC for the real-time tactics stealth game Commandos: Origins. This new campaign will challenge players with missions in the aftermath of the infamous German airborne invasion of Crete during World War II.

May of 1941 saw Nazi Germany launch the largest airborne operation in history when they dropped paratroopers across the sun-drenched island of Crete. This defeat for the Allies caused chaos in the Mediterranean and is the setting for this new self-contained campaign. Players will lead their Commandos through enemy territory to forge an alliance with the Cretan resistance, led by the fierce and loyal Eleni Andris, and then set out on missions of espionage, sabotage, and guerrilla warfare.
Through four fully voiced missions, players will follow the story of the Cretan resistance as the Commandos go from coastal villages, through ancient ruins, to a sprawling harbour city and to the fortified island inspired by Spinalonga.
Providing a fresh tactical challenge is the introduction of a deadly new enemy type, the German Paratrooper. These units are quick response teams that will float down onto the battlefield, forcing players to adapt with stealth and precision.
