Cyborg actor Ray Fisher “forcefully retracts” praise for Joss Whedon and his Justice League reshoots

June 30, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Ray Fisher, the actor behind the DC Extended Universe’s Cyborg, has retracted his initial praise for Joss Whedon’s Justice League reshoots.

When Zack Snyder first stepped away from Justice League and was replaced by Joss Whedon, there was a lot of optimism from fans and the actors involved with the DC blockbuster.

Ray Fisher, who played Cyborg in the film, praised Whedon at Comic-Con, saying: “Zack picked a good person to come in and clean up and finish up for him.” The film, unfortunately, didn’t work out as planned – especially for Cyborg who became a rather undeveloped character.

With the Snyder Cut now on the way, Fisher has retracted his praise of Whedon, with the actor stating on Twitter that: “I’d like to take a moment to forcefully retract every bit of this statement.”

Clearly Fisher isn’t too pleased with how things worked out with Whedon. Hopefully, the Snyder Cut will be a marked improvement on the theatrical release. We’ll find out next year when Zack Snyder’s Justice League hits HBO Max.

In Justice League, fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League is directed by Zack Snyder and features Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta and Robin Wright as General Antiope, J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon, Amber Heard as Mera, Ciaran Hinds as Steppenwolf and Ray Porter as Darkseid.
