Daisy Ridley says she is not involved with the next Star Wars trilogies

June 27, 2019 by Samuel Brace

Daisy Ridley, one of the stars of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, says that she is not going to be involved at all in the new trilogies.

After The Rise of Skywalker hits cinemas, fans will start looking forward to the new trilogies planned, helmed by Rian Johnson and Game of Thrones‘ David Benioff & D.B. Weiss.

We don’t know anything about the plot of these movies but we do know that Daisy Ridley, who plays Rey in the current saga, is not going to appear. Speaking to BuzzFeed (via Star Wars News Net), she said:

“I mean, I can say I’m not in the next trilogy. No. I think, cause Rian always said…if it’s the Rian one…or it’s the guys that did Game of Thrones. I’m not sure. Whichever one it was, they always said it was going to be a separate story. So I’m not. No.”

We likely won’t hear anything about these movies until The Rise of Skywalker has finished its run but at least fans know there is plenty more Star Wars content coming their way between Disney+’s TV offerings and the three as-yet-unrevealed movies scheduled for release in 2021, 2023 and 2025.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is set for release on December 20th 2019 with J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: The Force Awakens) directing a cast that includes Star Wars veterans Daisy Ridley (Rey), Adam Driver (Kylo Ren), John Boyega (Finn), Oscar Isaac (Poe Dameron), Lupita Nyong’o (Maz Kanata), Domhnall Gleeson (General Hux), Kelly Marie Tran (Rose Tico), Joonas Suotamo (Chewbacca), Billie Lourd (Lieutenant Connix), Greg Grunberg (Snap Wexley), Mark Hamill (Luke Skywalker), Anthony Daniels (C-3PO), Billy Dee Williams (Lando Calrissian), Ian McDiarmid (Emperor Palpatine) and Carrie Fisher (Leia Organa) as well as new additions Naomi Ackie (Lady Mabeth), Richard E. Grant (Logan), Dominic Monaghan (Lost), and Keri Russell (The Americans).
