David Fincher confirmed to direct World War Z 2 starring Brad Pitt

June 23, 2017 by Robert Kojder

Recently, Paramount’s new studio chief Jim Gianopulos stated that he and Brad Pitt were trying to court director David Fincher (who has collaborated with Brad Pitt on a number of iconic films) into directing the long-gestating sequel to World War Z.

Now, during an interview with THR, Gianopulos has confirmed that David Fincher will indeed be directing World War Z 2 and that Brad Pitt will be returning to star in the zombie-action epic.

Considering that the first film did not stick to the novel at all (to be fair, the structure of the book doesn’t necessarily make it an easy adaptation), it could be seen as a reassuring note that the sequel will likely be the director constructing his own feature from scratch, while obviously accounting for events in the first movie.

Let us know below in the comments if you are excited that David Fincher will be directing World War Z 2…
