David Fincher to direct Aaron Sorkin’s Steve Jobs biopic

February 27, 2014 by admin

A few years ago, The Social Network scribe Aaron Sorkin signed onto write a biopic of tech wizard Steve Jobs. Unlike the preposterous Ashton Kutcher vehicle, it will be split into three, 30 minute scenes. Until now, it was a mystery as to who would direct, however, David Fincher looks set to reunite with Sorkin by helming the project.

During an interview with The Daily Beast last year, Sorkin revealed that, “the entire movie is going to be three scenes, and three scenes only, that all take place in real time… There will be no time cuts. Each of these three scenes is going to take place before a product launch—backstage before a product launch. The first one being the Mac, the second one being NeXT (after he had left Apple), and the third one being the iPod.”

Fincher is currently finishing up Gone Girl, which hits cinemas on October 3rd with a cast that includes Ben Affleck (Argo), Rosamund Pike (The World’s End), Emily Ratajkowski (iCarly), Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), Tyler Perry (Madea Gets A Job), Missi Pyle (The Artist), Patrick Fugit (We Bought a Zoo), and Scoot McNairy (12 Years a Slave).
