DC TV series generating over $1 billion a year in revenue

November 4, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Warner Bros. may have had suffered a few bumps in the road as it launched its DC Extended Universe, but the studio has certainly made huge strides on the small screen, so much so that the various DC TV shows are generating over $1 billion a year in revenue.

The announcement was made by Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes, who revealed the figures on a company earnings conference call this week (via THR).

The latest wave of DC television projects got underway in 2012 with the premiere of Arrow, and has since seen the launch of Gotham, The Flash, iZombie, Supergirl, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Lucifer and Preacher, along with Constantine, which was cancelled after just one season.

Warner’s earnings from its DC TV projects could be bolstered further in the next year, with the workplace comedy Powerless set to premiere in 2017, and pilots for Black Lightning, Krypton and Scalped in development.
