Doctor Who: The Fugitive Doctor – Dead or Alive trailer pits Jo Martin against Alice Krige

July 19, 2025 by Andrew Newton

A brand-new full-cast audio drama for Doctor Who fans is available on the Big Finish website. The Fugitive Doctor: Dead or Alive follows on from January’s Most Wanted, and sees the Division’s dogged agent Cosmogon (Alice Krige) close in on Jo Martin’s Fugitive Doctor.  In a rare treat, Big Finish has released a trailer, which can be seen below…

The Fugitive Doctor: Dead or Alive features three fast-paced journeys across time and space, including:

In Flying Solo by Tajinder Singh Hayer, the Doctor chooses to help Officer Mohinder Singh Johal, a World War II RAF pilot who vanished along with his Spitfire after it encountered the TARDIS. Despite the TARDIS having been hit by a time disruptor, the Doctor takes the chance to take him back home.

The Junkyard Loop by Aaron Douglas finds the TARDIS crash-land on an off-grid junk planet filled with remnants of time machines from countless civilisations. After being saved from Time-Frost Parasites by Sodalis, an old companion long-marooned, the Doctor must find a way to save them both. In the meantime, a sinister Division commander has tracked the Doctor down and wants the secrets inside her head before Cosmogon can get her.

From L to R: Dominic Martin, John Dorney, David Holt, Jo Martin, Bethany Weimers, Raj Ghatak, David Richardson

Finally, in Hereafter by Tim Foley, Cosmogon has captured the Doctor but they are both stranded on a planet thanks to an unusual psychic forcefield. When Cosmogon is captured by vampires, the Doctor must decide whether to help her captor.

Joining Jo Martin and Alice Krige are Raj Ghatak as pilot Mohinder Johal, John Dorney as Alexander the Great, Alexander Vlahos as Division commander Zetorius, Terence Wilton as Astrabar, Clare Perkins as the vampiric Queen Verdilla, David Holt, Charlotte Palmer, Abbie Andrews, and Gunnar Cauthery.

The Fugitive Doctor: Dead or Alive is available from the Big Finish website for £18.99 as a download or £22.99 for the download and a limited edition collector’s CD box set.
