Doctor Who – The Lost Stories: The Collected Sixth Doctor 1 incoming in February

December 23, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Doctor Who fans have a treat coming their way in February when Big Finish Productions releases Doctor Who – The Lost Stories: The Collected Sixth Doctor 1, a digital collected edition of the full-cast audio dramas starring Colin Baker and Nicola Bryant. This collection features the adaptations of eight adventures that were never produced for the classic era, but found a home at Big Finish.

Starring Colin Baker as the Sixth Doctor and Nicola Bryant as his companion Peri, The Lost Stories: The Collected Sixth Doctor 1 will take the duo through time and space, from the Elizabethan era on Earth to deep into space. These adventures (taking place after 1985’s 22nd Series) include:

The Nightmare Fair by Graham Williams – When the TARDIS arrives in 1985 Blackpool, the Doctor plans to enjoy some of the attractions, unaware that the Celestial Toymaker is watching him. Now the game is on, and the Doctor will pay the ultimate forfeit if he loses.

In Mission to Magnus by Philip Martin, the Doctor and Peri face countless enemies on the planet Magnus, from school bullies to Rana Zandusia, the villainous matriarchal ruler of the planet. There’s also the slug-like Sil, still bitter from his defeat on the planet Varos, but deeper within the planet is an old enemy of the Doctors, and this one makes the future look a bit bleak.

The Sentinels of the New Dawn and a furious Herne the Hunter cause problems for the Doctor in Leviathan by Brian Finch and Paul Finch. When the TARDIS arrives in a medieval society where nobody lives to grow old, the Doctor and Peri encounter a man fleeing to avoid his doom. Can the Doctor help prevent Herne the Hunter from capturing his prey? Only by searching a mysterious cave will he find a way to do so.

In The Hollows of Time by Christopher H Bidmead, the Doctor and Peri have visited Reverend Foxwell in the quiet village of Hollowdean, but come away with hazy memories. It’s not long before the pair of travellers are seeking answers to a mysterious chauffeur, huge sand creatures, and the strange ‘Professor Stream’.

Paradise 5 by PJ Hammond and Andy Lane takes the action to the planet Targos Delta, where the Doctor plans on visiting an old friend. However, that friend went to the holiday resort of Paradise 5 and was never seen again. What terrible secret is buried beneath the white marble and golden trimmings, and will the Doctor ever see his friend again?

For Point of Entry by Barbara Clegg and Marc Platt, listeners will follow the Doctor and Peri back to 16th-century England, where playwright Kit Marlowe is attempting to write Doctor Faustus. When the cadaverous form of a Spaniard called Velez interrupts this creativity in search of a stone blade, chaos ensues, and the Doctor needs to find answers, and fast.

The Song of Megaptera by Pat Mills takes the Doctor and Peri forward through time and deep into space, to a vast harvesting ship that is hunting mile-long space whales. The pair must use all their wits to survive this situation and ensure the Megaptera is also saved from extinction.

Finally, in The Macros by Ingrid Pitt and Tony Rudlin, the TARDIS arrives on board the USS Eldridge, just after the disastrous Philadelphia Experiment. Most of the crew are dead, and the ship is falling apart. Although the Doctor knows this problem originates from another dimension and is rushing to find a solution, he may have just opened the doors to an even bigger disaster.

Doctor Who – The Lost Stories: The Collected Sixth Doctor 1 is available to pre-order now for a digital copy for £44.99.
