Dune: Awakening’s Lost Harvest DLC coming this September

August 21, 2025 by Andrew Newton

At this year’s Gamescom event, Funcom revealed new content coming to Dune: Awakening soon. On 10th September, players will see the arrival of Chapter 2, the game’s first free content update. On the same date, Funcom will also release The Lost Harvest, a new DLC with a standalone story and unique cosmetics (there’s an exciting new trailer below).  There’s also a free trial of the game on Steam running until 24th August, and pre-orders are now open for the game’s soundtrack on Vinyl.

In The Lost Harvest DLC, players follow a completely new standalone storyline where a spectacular crash of a Miner’s Guild spice harvester is discovered. It soon turns out that it was carrying a secret, potentially revolutionary cargo, and it’s up to players to find it.

This new DLC also brings several new cosmetics, including the game’s first new cosmetic vehicle with unique animations – the Treadwheel, the new Dune Man building set, new decorations to brighten up the place, armour sets, weapons, and much more. All cosmetics (inc the vehicle) must still be crafted like any other item.

The free Chapter 2 update continues on from the sinister revelations at the end of the base game’s main storyline and will allow players to  dig deeper into the darkest corners of the Imperium’s past, explore brand-new locations and meet new and familiar characters.

Players will also enjoy a variety of exciting new world content, including contracts, dynamic encounters, items, activities, and more. Plus there’s also a new re-customisation feature that allows players to customise existing characters with some of the new character creation options.

A new free trial is on Steam until 24th August and will give players the opportunity to play for 10 hours in the entire Hagga Basin map. Players will only be able to encounter others in the free trial and not with those who own the game, however, all character progress and inventory will remain should they decide to purchase the game after the trial.

Finally, the beautiful Dune: Awakening soundtrack by award-winning composer Knut Avenstroup Haugen is now available to pre-order on vinyl.

The new DLC will be available to purchase on 10th September and will automatically be available to those who have purchased the season pass.
