Dwayne Johnson compares Disney’s Jungle Cruise to Indiana Jones

December 15, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Dwayne Johnson is set to follow up his adventures in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle by returning to the wilderness for Jungle Cruise, based upon the Adventureland attraction at Disney theme parks.

While details on the plot are being kept under wraps, Johnson has been chatting to Entertainment Weekly about the project, revealing that he will be starring as the captain of a boat on the Amazon River.

“[It’s] full on adventure,” said Johnson. “Think Indiana Jones — those kinds of adventures. I’m very, very excited about it. This is where I really started to understand the power of Disney, just in terms of the deep dives that they do with their projects — with all of their projects. Because obviously they’re a studio and publicly traded, but specifically with projects like this where it’s based off a ride and based off an beloved attraction, like Pirates of the Caribbean, so, so much goes into the work. And it’s so exciting. ”
