Dylan Walsh to play General Sam Lane in Superman & Lois

April 6, 2020 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Dylan Walsh (Nip/Tuck) has been cast as General Samuel Lane, the father of Lois and Lucy Lane, in The CW’s upcoming Arrowverse spinoff Superman & Lois.

Walsh’s General Lane is descr9ibed as “a no-nonsense Army general who’s determined to keep America, and the world, safe from all threats – from this world or beyond. Lane’s a workaholic who demands nothing but excellence from all those in his life.”

Superman & Lois will see Tyler Hoechlin and Elizabeth Tulloch reprising their roles as Clark Kent and Lois Lane respectively, while  young actors Jordan Elsass (Little Fires Everywhere) and Alexander Garfin (The Peanuts Movie) have been cast as Clark and Lois’ super sons Jonathan and Jordan Kent.

General Sam Lane has previously been portrayed by Denis Arndt and Harve Presnell in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, as well as Michael Ironside in Smallville and Glenn Morshower in Supergirl.

Superman & Lois has been written by Todd Helbing, a former showrunner on The Flash, and he’ll also executive produce with Arrowverse veteran Greg Berlanti and former DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns.
