Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain to arrive on PS4 this April

January 26, 2019 by Andrew Newton

D3 Publisher has announced that Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain, the latest chapter in the beloved Earth Defense Force series, will launch exclusively on the Playstation 4 on 11th April.  This latest installment in the franchise will take players to a brand new territory to face a devastating new threat to humanity.  A new trailer can be seen below providing a glimpse at the new threat…

It has been 12 long years since mankind first encountered the invaders that would devastate the Earth and in this latest title in the series players will continue the fight to free humanity from the fear of invasion.

Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain will see players take on an overwhelming amount of enemies, including giant insects, kaiju monsters and mechs while introducing lots of new gear,  technology and troop types.  Over 50 intense, story driven missions await players in the best looking EDF to date.

Key features of Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain include:

  • Four soldier classes – Advances in the PA-Gear technology means that troops can be customised with hundreds of weapon, armament and item loadout combinations.  The Trooper, Jet Lifter, Heavy Striker and new Prowl Rider each have their own critical Over Drive ability.
  • Online and local multiplayer split screen modes with online supporting up to six players plus the new Mercenary mode which can host up to 8 players.
  • Character customisation – Players can fully customise the appearance of Closer, a decorated war hero who awakens from a seven year coma.

Look out for more news on Earth Defense Force: Iron Rain as we get closer to the release date.
