September 22, 2016 by Gary Collinson

Last week it was announced that Jackie Earle Haley (Preacher) has joined Robert Rodriguez’s upcoming manga adaptation Alita: Battle Angel, and now comes word that Ed Skrein (Deadpool) has also joined the cast.

The film, which is being produced by James Cameron, will star Rosa Salazar (Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials) as the title character Alita, an amnesiac cyborg who is discovered by a doctor (Christoph Waltz) in a junkyard and repaired. Discovering she is an expert in martial arts, Alita becomes a criminal-hunting assassin, whilst looking to uncover the truth about her past.

Alita: Battle Angel is being produced by 20th Century Fox, and is slated for release on July 20th, 2018.
