The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Edgar Wright and Johnny Depp teaming up for an adaptation Neil Gaiman’s 2014 children’s book Fortunately, the Milk, with Wright set to direct from a script by Bret McKenzie (Flight of the Conchords) and Depp starring as well as producing.
The book, described as “a story of time travel and breakfast cereal”, tells the tale of a dad who goes out to his corner shop to get milk for breakfast and returns with wild tales of time travelling dinosaurs, aliens and pirates.
Wright is currently in pre-production on Baby Driver, his first film since 2013’s The World’s End, which is set to star Ansel Elgort, Lily James and Jon Hamm and will hit cinemas in 2017.
