Eiza Gonzalez joins Fast & Furious spin-off Hobbs and Shaw

November 30, 2018 by Ricky Church

It looks like Hobbs and Shaw, the Fast & Furious spin-off starring Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham, has a new addition to its cast. Eiza Gonzalez (Baby Driver) will join the pair in the film, which is being directed by David Leitch (John Wick, Deadpool 2) from a script by Fast & Furious franchise writer Chris Morgan.

Hobbs and Shaw follows Johnson and Statham’s characters from the previous films in the franchise, federal agent Luke Hobbes and international mercenary and criminal Deckard Shaw. Gonzalez joins a cast that also includes Idris Elba (Luther), Vanessa Kirby (The Crown) and Eddie Marsan (Ray Donovan). While Gonzalez’s role has not been revealed, the film will see Elba as the villain and Kirby as Shaw’s sister in MI-5.

Gonzalez will be seen next in Robert Zemeckis’ Welcome to Marwen and Robert Rodriguez’s Alita: Battle Angel.

Hobbs and Shaw is scheduled for release on August 2nd 2019.
