Ant-Man and the Wasp star, Evangeline Lilly, is not interested in being a part of a standalone Wasp movie.
It seems every actor when asked if they would like to spinoff their Marvel or DC character into its own solo movie has answered with a resounding yes. And why wouldn’t they? Starring in your own MCU blockbuster? Most actors would bite your hand off for that.
Evangeline Lilly, however, isn’t interested in the idea of parting from Paul Rudd and starring in a standalone Wasp movie. She said during Fan Expo Boston (via ComicBook.com):
“I like the MCU and I’d like to stay. But I actually don’t like the idea of a Wasp standalone film, because Ant-Man and Wasp, since the very beginning in the comic books, were always a team. And really, they’re kind of one of the only proper and true teams in the MCU, otherwise it’s mostly a lot of individuals. And I love the team aspect of it, I love watching the interplay between Wasp and Ant-Man and Ant-Man and the Wasp. For me it’s the most fun part of the film.”
The partnership between the two is certainly one of the film’s strongest points so perhaps it’s not surprising that Lilly would rather star in more movies alongside Rudd than do her own thing. What do you think? Is Wasp better off sticking with Ant-Man?

Ant-Man and the Wasp sees Peyton Reed returning to the director’s chair and stars Paul Rudd (Scott Lang), Evangeline Lilly (Hope Van Dyne), Michael Douglas (Hank Pym), Michael Pena (Luis), David Dastmalchian (Kurt), Abby Ryder Fortson (Cassie Lang), Judy Greer (Maggie), Bobby Cannavale (Paxton) and T.I. (Dave), while new additions to the cast include Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne, Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster/Goliath, Hannah John-Kamen as The Ghost, Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch and Randall Park as Jimmy Woo.
