February’s update for World of Warships: Legends celebrates Lunar New Year

January 27, 2025 by Andrew Newton

World of Warships: Legends’ February update will be celebrating Lunar New Year by bringing the renowned Chinese novel ‘Journey to the West’ and the iconic Monkey King Sun Wukong to players. This update also brings a brand-new campaign, a new French battleship, a new historical event and much much more.  See the trailer below to see more of what’s coming in the update…

World of Warships: Legends Lunar New Year celebrations will bring the legendary Monkey King, Sun Wukong to the game as a new Commander and he’s joined by the Pan-Asian Tier VII Premium cruiser Wukong.  Together, they pack the power to capture the essence of the immortal demon.  Other characters from ‘Journey to the West’, such as Sha Wujing, and Tan Sanzang, also make an appearance as skins for certain ships.

The game will also celebrate previous Lunar New Years with the return of previously released content, including the Celestial Guardian Commander guise.  All Lunar New Year content will be available via special Lunar New Year ‘25 crates, that can be gained from the Store, ‘Journey to the West’ mission, the main campaign and special missions for select Pan-Asian and Japanese ships.

The update also brings the new Rose of Picardy campaign, with the French Tier VII Premium battleship Picardie available to those who complete it.  This vessel has 16 guns, a powerful secondary battery equipped with improved accuracy and penetration plus a Main Battery Reload Booster consumable.  Just be sure to complete the 100 milestones throughout the next five weeks with Admiralty Backing.

Other treats that players can expect with the new update are themed missions and historical ships with the ‘Across the Java Sea’ event, take on the third season of Fleet Cup, three new seasons of Ranked Battles and an array of quality of life improvements.

Last, but by no means least, the new update adds the Pan-Asian Legendary tier light cruiser Jinan as a research option in the Bureau.  This new ship is equipped with 20 stealthy deep-water torpedoes, sports quick maneuverability and speed.  Players can also gain The Four Elements skin for this vessel and the Pan-Asian Commander Chen Shaokuan.

Log in to World of Warships: Legends and celebrate the Lunar New Year on the seas.
