Fede Alvarez says Sam Raimi is directing Army of Darkness 2

October 27, 2013 by admin

It looks like the long-awaited fourth instalment in the original Evil Dead series is inching ever closer to becoming a reality; just last week, star Bruce Campbell confirmed that he was set to reprise the role of deadite slayer Ash and now Fede Alvarez – the director of this year’s Evil Dead reboot – has revealed via Twitter that Sam Raimi is set to return to the director’s chair for Army of Darkness 2.

It’s been 21 years since Raimi and Campbell last teamed up on for Army of Darkness, although both were producers on Alvarez’s reboot, while Campbell also briefly returned to his signature role of a post-credits cameo. Meanwhile Alvarez is also set to direct a sequel to his reboot, which could potentially lead to a future crossover which would bring together Ash and Mia (Jane Levy), the protagonist of the remake.

Are you looking forward to seeing Raimi and Campbell returning to the Evil Dead franchise for a fourth outing? Let us know in the comments below….
