Felicity Jones confirmed for Inferno, more cast members added

February 18, 2015 by Thomas Roach

Columbia Pictures has revealed the cast for the adaptation of the Dan Brown novel Inferno, which will reunite The Da Vinci Code and Angels and Demons director Ron Howard and star Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon.

Felicity Jones (The Theory of Everything) has now been confirmed for the role of Dr Sienna Brooks after months of speculation. Recently it was rumoured she might not have been able to star in the film due to scheduling conflicts with the untitled Star Wars spin off from director Gareth Edwards.

Also joining the cast of Inferno is Irrfan Khan (Life of Pi) as Harry Sims, Omar Sy (X-Men: Days of Future Past) as Christoph Bruder and Sidse Babett Knudsen (Borgen) as Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey, the head of the World Health Organization.

After waking up in a hospital room in Florence, Italy, with no memory of what has occurred for the last few days. Robert Langdon suddenly finds himself the target of a manhunt. With the help of Sienna Brooks, a doctor, and his knowledge of symbology he will try to escape whilst they have to solve the most intricate riddle Langdon never faced.

Inferno goes into production this year for an October 16th, 2016 release date.
