First major update arrives for Curse of the Dead Gods

April 24, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Passtech Games and Focus Home Interactive have announced the release of their first major update for their Early Access rogue-lite Curse of the Dead Gods.  The Cursed Temple update will provide players with a whole new game mode to play.  Watch the new trailer below for more details….

The Cursed Temple update adds the new Eternal Curse game modes which will provide players with a series of new thematic challenges with special modifiers such as a constant speed increase, the ability to take less damage in the shadows or even play the game with a retro display, however these challenges also come with their own side-effects.

As well as these interesting and unique challenges, there will also be a variety of new cursed and regular weapons, and relics including:

  • Fulmination, Death’s Rampart – Reflects projectiles.
  • Annihilation, Bow of Madness – Perfect shots will explode on impact and will deal damage to all characters nearby.
  • LeMat Grape Shot Revolver – Perfect shots will deal damage to all characters in a cone shape behind the target.
  • Accursed’s Codex Cursed Relic – +50% to all weapons’ base damage, +50% to all damage taken.
  • Glyph of Darkness Cursed Relic – Level +1 on Cursed weapons.

This update also addresses some balancing issues and bug fixes.

The Cursed Temple update is available now and will be joined in the future by the Temple of the Snake update with its poisonous halls, new mechanics, weapons and adversaries.
