First major update arrives for Insurgency: Sandstorm

March 1, 2019 by Andrew Newton

New World Interactive has released the first major content update for their hit indie FPS Insurgency: Sandstorm.  This new update will bring a new arcade mode, five new weapons, a new firing range and much more.  A new trailer celebrating the update can be seen below…

The new arcade mode provides the foundations for a set of new game modes and this update starts with a classic Team Deathmatch mode.  This mode will remove faction restrictions on weapons and upgrades and give players the opportunity to create their ideal loadout.  More arcade modes will be added in future updates.

Five new weapons are being added, these include two new variations of the MP5, the MP5A2 and the MP5A5, these are low caliber and perfect for close combat; two new machine guns, the M240B and MG3, both providing an excellent rate of fire, finally there’s a new Security handgun, the PF940.  As well as these new weapons there has been a rework of flash grenades, cosmetic items and a new camouflage pattern.  There is also a brand new firing range for players to practice their aim.

Alongside the update, New World Interactive are celebrating their 500,000 copy of the game sold with a 20% discount on Steam.

Insurgency: Sandstorm is available now on Steam.
