Friday the 13th reboot delayed again, will now be released in 2017

October 21, 2015 by Luke Owen

Through a deal with Warner Bros. over the distribution rights to Interstellar, Paramount Pictures picked up the rights to once again produce movies based on Friday the 13th. But since then, the road back to Camp Crystal Lake hasn’t been plain sailing.

Originally slated for release on March 3rd, 2015, Friday the 13th was pushed back to November 6th, 2015. When it looked like that date wasn’t achievable, it was delayed again until May 13th, 2016. And now Deadline are reporting that it’s been pushed back once again until January 13th, 2017.

One of the reasons for this push back, however, is the announcement that the long-rumoured Found Footage Friday the 13th has now been scrapped.

Friday the 13th will now be released on January 13th, 2017 and will be directed by David Bruckner (The Signal) based off a script written by Nick Antosca (Hannibal).
