Gamescom trailer released for Yoku’s Island Express, watch it here

August 23, 2017 by Andrew Newton

At this year’s Gamescom event in Cologne veteran developers and publishers Team17 and developer Villa Gorilla released a new trailer for their upcoming their pinball platformer Yoku’s Island Express.

This new trailer showcases the world that players will arrive in as they take up their new postman duties.  Yoku’s Island Express is due for release on Xbox One, Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2018.

Yoku’s Island Express places gamers in the the role of Yoku the Dung Beetle who arrives on the ancient island of Mokumana to take over the duties of the resident pterodactyl postman.  Thanks to a restless, sleeping deity causing numerous earthquakes the island is in chaos and the various strange and colourful residents need help.  As Yoku, players must travel the island helping them, rebuild the post office and wake the deity.  To progress through the game players will need to flip and bounce their way around using the unique pinball mechanics.

The game uses a wonderfully unique blend of pinball, platforming and a pinch of open world exploration that is sure to make players thoroughly entertained in this colourful, tropical adventure.

Yoku’s Island Express is coming to Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and PC in 2018.
