Many people expected this to happen, but we didn’t want it to be a reality. Sadly, Grand Theft Auto 6 has seen yet another delay and will not be released until mid-2026.
Publisher Rockstar Games, a division of Take Two Interactive, dropped the statement and broke the hearts of gamers everywhere. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve,” the company said.
“We are very sorry that this is later than you expected,” the statement continued. “We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game.

GTA 6 has been in development for quite some time now. A teaser trailer dropped a while back, causing fans to get even more uproar about the release. With no actual date set, the developers had the release set for sometime in late 2025.

As we continue to release our phenomenal pipeline, we expect to deliver a multi-year period of growth in our business and enhanced value for our shareholders.”
Grand Theft Auto VI is set for release on May 26th 2026.
