Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be “at least” a trilogy

October 15, 2014 by Gary Collinson

We assumed this would be the case anyway, but with Warner Bros. announcing a host of upcoming release dates – including its plans for a DC Cinematic Universe – it has now been confirmed that the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be “at least” a trilogy.

Following the already announced date for the first movie of November 8th, 2016, the as-yet-untitled second and third movies will hit in 2018 and 2020 respectively. David Yates – director of the last four Harry Potter films – is set to return to direct the first movie, with Potter screenwriter Steve Kloves also involved in some capacity (helping J.K. Rowling with the scripts, perhaps?).
