HBO Max will keep current DCEU titles, adding Christopher Reeve Superman films and Zack Snyder’s Watchmen

June 25, 2020 by EJ Moreno

Earlier this month, HBO Max announced plans to remove over a dozen films based on DC Comics properties, just weeks after the streaming service’s recent launch.

However, according to a report from Deadline, it seems like some of the DC titles will now be staying, while the streamer has also announced plans to expand its offering with more fan-favorite DC movies.

The titles HBO planned to remove included Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, Justice League, Catwoman, Jonah Hex, The Losers, Steel, Teen Titans Go To The Movies, 2009’s animated Wonder Woman film, and the Tim Burton and Joel Schumacher’s Batman entries.

Now plans are changing, and the four DC Extended Universe titles – Batman v Superman, Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman, and Joss Whedon’s Justice League – will remain alongside thee other two DCEU entries Aquaman and Shazam!.

While the other films are still leaving HBO Max, the streamer will replace them with some brand new iconic DC features. Joining the streaming service this July will be the four Christopher Reeve Superman films, along with the animated movie Superman: Unbound, and Zack Snyder’s Watchmen.
