Hellboy cinematic universe, Karl Urban returning as Judge Dredd, Superman in new Justice League promo – Daily News Roundup

August 9, 2017 by admin

A HELLISH UNIVERSE

This should come as no surprise, but there are hopes that Neil Marshall’s big screen reboot of Hellboy could spawn a cinematic universe. “It’s a very loose adaptation of one of the Hellboy graphic novels,” he told The Verge. “When you have more books out there, you have a lot more to sift through. You can look around at how big the world is, and borrow pieces from here and there. You want to sell a larger world, but you have to pick and choose what goes in there. The challenge for us has been to not lose sight of the specific story, but suggest the elements of a larger story. My hope is that this introduces a lot of stuff that then expands into a Hellboy Cinematic Universe.” Read more here.

DEADPOOL SET PHOTO

We’ve seen official photos of Cable and Domino in Deadpool 2, and now Ryan Reynolds has shared a behind the scenes image from the set featuring Brolin’s time-travelling mutant alongside the Merc with a Mouth – or more accurately, a little version of the Merc with a Mouth. Check it out here.

DREDD RETURN

Following the announcement of Judge Dredd: Mega-City One, many fans hoped that Karl Urban would reprise his role from the 2012 film. Well, speaking at a Star Trek convention in Las Vegas this past week, Urban has revealed that he’s open to donning the helmet once again, and has even been having talks about that very possibility. “I am in discussions with them about that,” said Urban. “I told them that if they write the material and give Dredd something to do and give him a function, I will be there. I would love to.” Read more here.

BOND RUMOURS

Take this with a pinch of salt, but UK tabloid – known for making news up to fill space in their paper – are claiming Daniel Craig has signed on for two more Bond movies following Bond 25. Read more here, but it’s likely not true at all.

SUPERMAN RETURNS

He was only teased in the SDCC trailer for Justice League, but Superman is being featured prominently in a lot of promotional material for the movie. Check out a new piece of promo art here.

HONEST COVENANT

It didn’t wow fans or critics, and now Screen Junkies have taken their Honest Trailer format to Alien: Covenant. Check it out here.

INTERVIEW OF THE DAY

Thomas Harris spoke with Inhumans director Roel Reine about the upcoming series, which you can check out here.
