Jack Black and Paul Rudd remake Anaconda in final trailer for meta reboot

December 18, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

With just a week to go until Anaconda slithers its way onto the big screen, Sony Pictures has shared the final trailer for the meta reboot.

Directed by Tom Gormican, the action comedy sees a midlife crisis push best friends Doug (Jack Black) and Griff (Paul Rudd) into fulfilling their dream of remaking the  1997 adventure horror Anaconda, and deep into the Amazon to make their film where their comedically chaotic shoot turns deadly.

Joining Rudd and Black in the cast are Steve Zahn, Thandiwe Newton, Daniela Melchior, Selton Mello, Ione Skye and Ben Lawson. Check out the trailer below…

Doug (Jack Black) and Griff (Paul Rudd) have been best friends since they were kids, and have always dreamed of remaking their all-time favorite movie: the cinematic “classic” Anaconda. When a midlife crisis pushes them to finally go for it, they head deep into the Amazon to start filming. But things get real when an actual giant anaconda appears, turning their comically chaotic movie set into a deadly situation. The movie they’re dying to make? It might just get them killed.

Anaconda is set for release on December 25th in the US and on December 26th in the UK.
