Jenna Coleman signs on for another series of Doctor Who

December 26, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Back in August, UK tabloid The Daily Mirror reported that Jenna Coleman would be leaving her role as companion Clara Oswald in last night’s Doctor Who Christmas Special. Of course, we now know that wasn’t the case, and the BBC has confirmed that the actress will be back alongside Peter Capaldi’s Twelfth Doctor when the ninth series of the show gets underway in 2015.

“It’s wonderful,” Coleman tells the BBC. “I get a whole other series of stories with the Doctor and I couldn’t walk away with the story being unresolved. There is so much more to do. I think they’ve finally just reached a point where they really understand each other. The arrival of the 12th Doctor has just kind of dropped this whole bombshell and allowed the dynamic to totally change, so I think just when Clara was feeling more comfortable in the relationship, it has suddenly thrown something new up.”

Are you glad that Clara will be back for series 9 of Doctor Who?
