Development on Practical Magic 2 is increasing at a steady pace. A few weeks after releasing a short teaser and its 2026 premiere date, Warner Bros. has revealed through The Hollywood Reporter young actress Joey King (Bullet Train) is in talks to star alongside the returning Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman.
Releasing in 1998, Practical Magic saw Bullock and Kidman as two witch sisters raised by their eccentric aunts in a small town, who are faced with closed-minded prejudice and a curse that threatens to prevent them from finding lasting love.
King will play a daughter of Sally Owens, Bullock’s character, who “discovers the dark family secrets and her own dark powers, plunging the family into a crisis.”
Practical Magic 2 will be directed by Sussane Bier (Birdbox) with original screenwriter Avika Goldsman penning the script. Bullock, Kidman and Denise Di Novi will serve as producers. Production will begin this summer in London.
Practical Magic 2 will be released on September 18th, 2026.
