Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection gets physical collector’s editions

August 30, 2023 by Andrew Newton

Limited Run Games have announced they will be releasing physical collector’s editions of the upcoming Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection and will be available to pre-order from 1st September.  These special editions will be available for Nintendo Switch, Xbox and Playstation consoles and feature the classic Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park Part 2: The Chaos Continues games originally released on the NES, SNES and Game Boy.

The physical editions of the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection will be available in three tiers with the standard (see picture above) including just the games.  However, both the Classic and Prehistoric editions will include lots of items and goodies that most fans of the original Jurassic Park films will love.

The Classic Edition is inspired by the original home VHS release of the 1993 film and includes a case in the style of a wonderful looking VHS cassette.  Also included is a booklet and a steelbook featuring iconic artwork.

Gamers who purchase the Prehistoric Edition will get the same contents of the Classic Edition and also plenty more goodies, including a stylish storage box inspired by the classic Jurassic Park toy packaging, a poster, an acrylic lamp featuring interchangeable inserts of an 8-bit Velociraptor and the game logo, mini replica cartridges of the classic games, Dr. Alan Grant’s ID badge and the soundtrack.

For retro fans, these classic Jurassic Park games were originally developed by Ocean Software, one of the largest software companies to come from the UK at that time.  The company was renowned for making movie based titles but Jurassic Park, along with Batman: The Movie and RoboCop will always be among the best titles they developed.

Limited Run Games has also revealed that the collection will release digitally on all platforms on 22nd November with pre-ordering available from 8th November. Pre-ordering for these collector’s editions will begin Friday 1st September at limitedrungames.com.
