Justice League begins production this April; Zack Snyder will direct

February 22, 2016 by Luke Owen

Last week, there was a report that claimed Warner Bros. were worried about their upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and even suggested that the studio could remove Zack Snyder from the director’s chair of Justice League. Well, it would appear those rumours were pretty bogus.

Entertainment Weekly are reporting that Snyder is set to start production of Justice League – which will be split into two movies – this coming April. “The idea that we could begin to boot up a Justice League concept was a cool thing. It was a little bit of an ‘about time’ moment, and I don’t blame [the studio] for feeling that way, because it’s a long time coming,” Snyder told EW. “But I do feel like it’s a little bit of a creative hurdle. It seems like an easy thing to do at first glance, the idea that, ‘Oh, we just get the rest of the superheroes in there.’ But you have to [establish] a world where they can exist.”

Snyder is currently in London prepping the movie, which will see the return of several cast members for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

George Miller (Mad Max: Fury Road) had been developing a Justice League movie back in 2007 (which is getting its own documentary), but this is the first time a director has successfully managed to get a movie bringing DC’s finest heroes together.

Justice League Part 1 & Part 2 will feature Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Ezra Miller as The Flash.
