Keanu Reeves claims Bill & Ted 3’s current script will cost “$400 million” to make

November 29, 2013 by admin

Greetings, my excellent friends.

It’s been 22 years since we last caught up with Bill S. Preston Esq and Ted “Theodore” Logan of the Wyld Stallyns. Rumours of a third movie have been long gestating for some time with the both Alex Winter and Keanu Reeves saying they’re going to be reprising their roles.

Last we heard, the story was going to centre around Bill and Ted trying to work out why their music hasn’t created world peace like Rufus told them it would (guess the newspapers in the end credits of Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey were incorrect).

In an interview with Access Hollywood promoting his upcoming movie 47 Ronin, Reeves spoke about the script for Bill & Ted 3 and why it’s taking so long to come together: “It needs to be adapted because right now, it would cost $400 million to make.”

He then went on to elaborate on what the current version of the script entails: “There’s a rift in the universe and there’s all sorts of creatures. The script is funny and there’s a story to tell there, so there are efforts being made to try and continue that journey”.

Galaxy Quest director Dean Parisot is apparently attached to helm the project while the script is being written by Ed Solomon and Chris Matheson.

Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure was released in 1989 and has become a favourite among fans of all things retro. It’s 1991 sequel Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey was not as well received.

Would you like to see Bill & Ted re-form the Wyld Stallyns for one last adventure? Let us know in the comments below….
