Kevin Feige and Elizabeth Olsen tease that there’s plenty more stories for Scarlet Witch in the MCU

September 29, 2022 by EJ Moreno

As we saw at end of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the fate of Wanda Maximoff and the Scarlet Witch is left in the air. Could they have killed off one of the most popular MCU characters?

Well, Marvel Studios’ boss and the actress behind the character have some new details to share with fans. Kevin Feige and Elizabeth Olsen have been asked about the character’s future, and while both kept exact details under wraps the pair still gave fans a tease of what is to come.

“There really is so much more to explore. We still haven’t touched on many of her core storylines from the comics,” says Feige. He continues by stating working with Elizabeth Olsen is something he enjoys: “I’d work with Lizzie for another 100 years if we could. Anything’s possible in the multiverse! We’ll have to see.”

When  pressed about if Wanda survived the temple collapsing onto her, Feige plays coy and lets fans use their imagination. “I don’t know that we saw her under [the] rubble? I saw a tower coming down and a little red flash. I don’t know what that means.”

For Elizabeth Olsen herself, the answer isn’t as easy to offer up. “I really, genuinely feel like my job is to keep my mouth shut until he [Feige] makes an announcement of any kind,” said Olsen, adding that she’d like to see Wanda get “some sort of redemption” after he actions in the Doctor Strange sequel.

At the time of writing, there aren’t any Marvel Cinematic Universe projects with Elizabeth Olsen confirmed to make her return as Scarlet Witch. You can however see her latest appearance in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which is currently streaming on Disney+.
