Kevin Feige doesn’t know if we’ll ever see another Hulk movie

October 24, 2017 by Gary Collinson

Back in July, Mark Ruffalo suggested that another solo Hulk movie “will never happen”, and now those comments have seemingly been echoed by Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige, who has told IndieWire that:

“I think that back and forth continues, and I don’t know if it will ever happen. But I will tell you, it makes me very, very happy going from a world, ten years ago, when people were questioning the viability of Hulk in a standalone film, to getting asked every other interview, ‘When will there be another standalone Hulk?'”

The issue with the Hulk is that Universal Pictures still holds the distribution rights to any solo Hulk movie, and as Ruffalo previously revealed “for some reason, they don’t know how to play well with Marvel, and, they don’t want to make money.”

As a result, it seems the Hulk is restricted to supporting roles in other Marvel movies, but as we have heard, his appearance in Thor: Ragnarok is set to kick off a three-movie arc for the character that will continue in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers 4. So, it looks like fans of the Green Goliath still have much to look forward to, solo movie or not.

In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk.

Thor: Ragnarok is being directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) and features Marvel veterans Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Idris Elba as Heimdall and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk alongside Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Karl Urban as Skurge, Taika Waititi as Korg, Clancy Brown as Surtur, Rachel House as Topaz, Tadanobu Asano as Hogun and Sam Neill in an as-yet-unrevealed role.
