Kiersey Clemons hopes The Flash will shoot in 2019

September 1, 2018 by Gary Collinson

While its become commonplace for DC Films to encounter some issues with its DCEU movies, one project that really has been beset with teething troubles is that of The Flash.

The movie passed through the hands of directors Seth Grahame-Smith and Rick Famuyiwa, was reconfigured from a Scarlet Speedster solo movie to Flashpoint, brought in Game Night helmers Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley, and has now reportedly dropped the Flashpoint plans in favour of reverting back to a standard solo film.

Since the appointment of Goldstein and Daley, we’ve heard very little in the way of news, and actress Kiersey Clemons – who is attached to play the role of Iris West – has revealed to Variety that while the movie won’t shoot this year, she is hoping it will get up and running in 2019.

Clemons comments match up with an earlier report which claimed that DC Films is aiming to shoot The Flash in 2019, along with the Dwayne Johnson-headlined Black Adam movie. DC also has Birds of Prey expected to begin production in January 2019, while Matt Reeves has also been suggesting that he hopes to get cameras rolling on The Batman in the spring or summer. If so, it’s going to be a busy year for WB and DC Films!
