Lupita Nyong’o reportedly wanted for Bond 25

February 23, 2019 by Gary Collinson

Following yesterday’s unconfirmed rumour that Bond 25 is going by the (working) title of Shatterhand, we now have another potential piece of news for Daniel Craig’s fifth and final outing as 007.

According to The Daily Mail, director Cary Joji Fukunaga and producer Barbara Broccoli are keen to cast Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong’o in the film, although her schedule is proving tricky and as yet no deal is in place.

Nyong’o has Little Monsters, Us and Star Wars: Episode IX incoming this year, while her upcoming projects include John Woo’s planned English-language remake of The Killer and the female-led action thriller 355. She’ll also presumably reprise her role as Nakia in Marvel’s Black Panther 2, although that may still be some time away.

Bond 25 is set for release on April 8th 2020 andwill see the return of Daniel Craig as 007, Ben Whishaw as Q, Ralph Fiennes as M, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny and Lea Seydoux as Dr. Madeleine Swann.

As yet, there’s no word on any new additions to the cast, although it has been rumoured that Bohemian Rhapsody’s Rami Malek could be in line for the role of the villain, if things can work around his Mr. Robot commitments.
