Major update for Insurgency: Sandstorm arriving this November

October 31, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Players currently enjoying the Insurgency: Sandstorm pre-order beta will experience a new weapon, a new map and a good amount of new options, tweaks and fixes on 8th November as a major new update makes its arrival.  Developers New World Interactive have released a teaser trailer (see below) showcasing the new map titled Precinct.

Precinct is a large scale urban map set within a large city featuring tight corners, broken barricades and burnt out cars that litter the destroyed streets.  This new map brings Insurgency: Sandstorm’s frenetic action and tactical squad based play into a new urban location.

Other improvements coming with the update include a new Alpha AK weapon, more graphical options,  anti-aliasing, animation and character models and gameplay changes that will target bug fixes to the specifics of movement speeds, weapon statistics and map layouts.

Expect this new update to arrive on the pre-order beta on the 8th November with the game set to fully release on 12th December.

Insurgency: Sandstorm is the sequel to the indie breakout FPS Insurgency, reborn for PC and for the first time on consoles – improved, expanded, and bigger in every way. Experience the intensity of modern combat where skill is rewarded, and teamwork wins the fight. Prepare for a hardcore depiction of combat with deadly ballistics, light attack vehicles, destructive artillery, and HDR audio putting the fear back into the genre.
