Margot Robbie officially signs on for Harley Quinn spin-off movie

September 15, 2016 by Luke Owen

It had been rumoured for sometime but The Hollywood Reporter are confirming that Margot Robbie has signed an exclusive first-look deal with Warner Bros. along with her other two projects, which will include a Harley Quinn spin-off movie.

The Australian actor has cultivated a good relationship with the studio having starred in Focus, The Legend of Tarzan and this year’s DC Extended Universe film Suicide Squad. Her other project at Warner Bros. is an adaptation of Queen to the Air, which she will executive produce and star.

Robbie is also attached to be executive producer on the Harley Quinn spin-off under her LuckyChap Entertainment banner.

Many hailed Robbie’s performance as Harley Quinn as one of the stand outs of Suicide Squad (which recently passed $700 million at the box office), and her spin-off furthers Warner Bros.’ renewed focus on female-driven stories – including next year’s Wonder Woman and the all-female reboot of Ocean’s Eleven.
