Mckenna Grace confirms Phoebe Spengler return for Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel

Fans want more Ghostbusters after the latest film, Afterlife, won over long-time lovers of the franchise, and n0-one wants to see more of the Ghostbusters: Afterlife universe than star Mckenna Grace.

The actress is so excited for the sequel in fact that she even dropped a casting bombshell herself. Yes, Mckenna Grace will return as Phoebe Spengler in the as-yet-untitled Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel.

This news comes from Grace herself, who confirmed her return in an interview with ComicBook.com. During promotion for her Peacock dramatized true-crime series Friend of the Family, the young actress dropped the news, mentioning she is always asking for more info on the sequel just like fans.

Grace says she’s “constantly pressuring” director Jason Reitman for more information on the sequel’s story and says: “I literally have no ounce of a clue what the story is; I’m just excited to do a second one. I’m just excited to be Phoebe.”

The Ghostbusters: Afterlife sequel was announced by Sony in June, where they noted this new installment would see the Spengler family moving to New York City. You can expect the film to scare up some fun during its planned December 2023 release.

In addition to the Afterlife sequel, Sony is also teaming with Netflix for an animated Ghostbusters feature, which is being directed by Jennifer Kluska (Hotel Transylvania: Transformania) and Chris Prynoski (Metalocalypse).
