Michael Biehn reportedly returning as Hicks in Neill Blomkamp’s Alien movie

Back in January when director Neill Blomkamp first revealed some concept art for his then-potential Alien movie, Sigourney Weaver’s Ripley was joined by none other than Corporal Hicks, played of course by Michael Biehn in 1986’s sequel Aliens.

Considering Hicks’ fate at the start of Alien 3, there was some speculation as to whether Blomkamp’s concept would ignore subsequent sequels – something which the filmmaker has since confirmed and denied. However, with the project now officially moving ahead at Fox, it seems that Biehn may indeed be returning to the role of the Colonial Marine.

According to a poster on Reddit, who met Biehn at the Pensacon convention over the weekend, the actor responded “yes… looks like it” when asked if he’d been contacted by the studio for the new Alien movie, and if he was going to do.

Now, this may not be accurate, but I’m sure there are plenty of fans who want to see Biehn back on the big screen as Hicks, and the character obviously featured in Blomkamp’s original vision, so here’s hoping…
