Microids’ Poirot returns in Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile story trailer

June 10, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Microids and Microids Studio Lyon have released the first trailer for the upcoming Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile. The game, set to release this September on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and PC via Steam, adapts the Christie classic by providing two playable protagonists – the legendary Hercule Poirot and new character, Jane Royce. You can watch the new trailer below….

In Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile, players will use their investigation skills as they embark on a journey that remains faithful to the spirit of the original novel while offering a unique adventure packed with never-before-seen surprises.

When a peaceful cruise on the Nile is disrupted by a terrible crime, Poirot is on the scene to sort it out, meanwhile, private detective Jane Royce is tracking a murderer that leads her to collide with Poirot’s investigation. This pair of investigators will solve a case more complex than they imagined, one filled with twists and turns. However, the story doesn’t end with the book.

Players will make use of Poirot’s sharp eye and Royce’s instinct as they discover the investigation from different angles. Playing as both characters, the pieces of the puzzle should come together to uncover the truth.

Featuring:

  • Play as two protagonists, each with a unique perspective on the investigation.
  • A 1970’s setting with discos, flared trousers and colourful characters.
  • Discover a brand-new investigation that continues after the events of the book.
  • A variety of locations to explore, from the Nile and Cairo to London and Majorca.
  • Gather clues and create logical connections using an enhanced mind map.
  • Gather the evidence, challenge suspects and expose lies.
  • Create character profiles by collecting information.
  • Take part in spying, lock-picking, mental reconstruction and more.

Agatha Christie – Death on the Nile arrives on PC and consoles this September. For those unable to wait, a playable demo is available now on Steam.
