Monad update arrives for MapleStorySEA

August 8, 2018 by Andrew Newton

AsiaSoft have announced the release of the latest patch for their free to play, 2D, side-scrolling MMORPG MapleStorySEA.  The Monad patch will be released in two parts; the first part is available today with the second scheduled for 15th August.  In this latest update for the game players will experience not one but two campaigns that can provide nice rewards.  Two teaser trailers for the Monad patch can be seen below…

The first episode of Monad takes place in Abrup Basin and will see players take a different role from regular MapleStory quests.  In this quest players will need to accompany villagers to a nearby village in order to seek shelter before a blizzard arrives and select the right thing to say to keep the morals of the villagers high.  Saying the wrong thing will cause groups of villagers to abandon the caravan.

Also coming in the update are:

  • Maximum cap for Star Force Enhancement has been increased to 25 so that players with equipment from level 140 and above will be able to enhance their weapons even more.
  • A rerun of the national day campaigns for both Singapore and Malaysia.
  • Western Gunslinger – A brand new mini game sees 4 players shoot it out.
  • MapleStory Prizes available between August and October.
  • Maple Mania! is a new campaign with PepsiCo and Secretlab that will run for the entire duration of the Monad patch.  This is a race against time to form a full set of cards from each world and there can only be 10 winners.

Asiasoft’s COO, Quang mentions, “The 25 Star Force Enhancement is a feature that has been requested by numerous players and we hope that this change would allow players to continue to seek out their in-game potential and reach new heights of achievement in game. With the game finally reaching post 5th job, the game system must also progress beyond what we currently have for a better balance in the game. This way our services become more in line with what MapleStory Korea (KMS) has to offer.”

The Monad patch is available now.
