Narcos: Rise of the Cartels is out now

November 20, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Fans of Netflix’ multi award-winning series Narcos can now take the fight to Columbia themselves in Narcos: Rise of the Cartels, the new turn-based tactics game from Curve Digital and developer Kuju.  This brutal turn based title is available now on PC and Playstation 4, arrives on the Nintendo Switch on the 21st and the Xbox One on Friday 22nd November.

Narcos: Rise of the Cartels follows the first season of the TV series through two campaigns that each provide vastly different perspectives on the 80’s war against drugs.  Either take on the rapidly expanding narcotics empire alongside Agent Murphy of the DEA or help build the Medellin Cartel’s under the watchful gaze of El Patrón.

Both campaigns will take players to iconic locations from the series from Columbia’s sun-drenched rainforests to the cramped streets of Medellin.  There will also be the opportunity to meet familiar faces from the series.

The game features:

  • An authentic gaming experiences based around the series with recognisable locations and iconic characters.
  • Two unique campaigns that allow players to see the war from both sides.
  • Turn based, yet fast paced action.
  • Innovative gameplay mechanics that keeps the combat fresh by allowing players to take third-person control of units.

“Narcos is one of the biggest hits on Netflix and is a personal favourite of mine. This game will appeal to gamers as well as fans of the show as it mixes the authentic feel of the series with an interactive experience to make you feel you’re right in the action. The characters, the storyline and the history of the cartels are all there – you just have to decide whose side you’re on!”, Dominic Wheatley, Chief Executive Officer at Curve Digital.

Whether you help build the white gold empire or help destroy it, the choice is up to you.
