New Alpha 17 houses revealed for 7 Days to Die in latest video

November 3, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Another video showcasing new features of Alpha 17 of 7 Days to Die arrives today from Joel Huenink of The Fun Pimps.  This latest video shows off some of the new houses that players can expect to find in Diersville.  Watch this tour round the new properties below.

It looks like it will be goodbye to the easy days of looting houses come Alpha 17 as the new buildings will offer a veritable maze of barriers and corridors to progress through.  There are even some houses that will look very familiar from the outside but will be vastly different inside.

Aside from the internal layout of each house there will be a way to enter that doesn’t involve breaking down a door, window or wall.  That’s not to say those options will no longer be available, everything is still destructible however, with sleepers around now it isn’t always the best thing to make lots of noise.  New routes into houses will vary and provide their own challenge with some requiring a bit of parkour and others requiring a little puzzle solving.  Joel does mention that there will be hazards to bypass such as pipes that shoot out steam.

There are plans to put a back story into every house with one example being shown in the video of a motivational speaker who invites his audience into the basement, you can imagine what happens.

Joel has created lots of new textures for these new structures to give them a more unique and realistic appearance.  These new textures include mouldy dry wall, roof beams and joists, wainscoting and walls.  There will also be climbable trellis and decorative trims around windows and doors.

There are plenty of new houses being created for Alpha 17; watch Joel’s video below for a tour…
