New content galore coming to World of Tanks: Mercenaries this month

March 4, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Wargaming are bringing a whole host of new content for World of Tanks: Mercenaries players this March with the arrival of update 4.9.  This latest update will bring a new Italian line, St. Patrick’s Day event, Moon tank battles to celebrate April Fool’s Day and much more.

Update 4.9 kicks off on 5th March with the arrival of the Italian tank line, the Italians are the game’s twelfth nation and the upcoming tech tree will be heralded by the the release of a new Premium Italian hero tank, the Ariete Progetto.  This extremely mobile tank will come with a powerful auto-reloading gun.  The full Italian tech tree will arrive towards the end of the month.  Other features of update 4.9 include new camouflages suggested by the community and the return of the Berlin Winter and Icebound maps.

Also coming on the 5th march is the ever popular Commander Mode.  In this mode, players take the role of Commander and give orders to units from a birds eye view.  This mode will now also support keyboard and mouse providing players with a greater degree of precision.

March 15th-17th will see the arrival of a St. Patrick’s Day celebration event.  Throughout this weekend, every 10 victories achieved will reward players with a random loot drop with the potential to earn up to 100,000 Silver available to earn per drop.  This is a weekend you don’t want to miss.

At the end of the month, from March 29th to 1st April, players can set off into space to wage war in Lunar Combat Mode.  Tank commanders will head off to the Moon and Mars to take on others in the M24 Lunar tank built specifically for low gravity combat.

Finally, March will host the third and final phase of the Winter Games campaign where players will be able to earn a variety of rewards from in-game ops, these include XP Boosts, Gold and Silver, Free XP and medals.

World of Tanks: Mercenaries this March is not one to miss so be sure to take part.
