Devolver Digital has announced that a new speedrun setting has arrived for their quick footed adventure Minit and that they are also challenging the community to beat the current world record. Two videos can be seen below showing the current world records for both categories. The new speedrun challenge is accompanied by a 25% discount for the game on Steam, GOG, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch, so if you have not yet got the game and want to take part in the challenge then now may be the perfect time to buy.
The Minit Speedrun Community Event will run from 4th October until 5th November and feature two categories:
- Any % / Normal Mode: The fastest possible run on normal mode with no requirements for completion percentage. The current world record for this is 6:56.83.
- 110% / Fewest Runs: The fewest number of lives used to get to 110% completion on normal mode. The current world record for this category is 34 runs.
The winners of each category will be rewarded with a custom Minit Speedrun World Champion shirt, a Minit plush, and a Devolver Digital game pack.
