New trailer for Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom revealed ahead of E3 2018

June 9, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Ahead of E3 2018, FDG Entertainment have released a brand new trailer for their upcoming platforming action adventure Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom showcasing the excellent looking gameplay.  Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom is set for release on the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch later this year.  You can watch the new E3 trailer below…

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom has been created alongside Ryuichi Nishizawa, creator of the original Wonder Boy series, and has been greatly inspired by the classic game with its addictive gameplay, atmospheric music and entertaining adventure.

Players will take the role of Jin, a young hero who sets out to save Monster World Kingdom.  On his journey Jin will face challenging enemies, discover hidden locations and upgrade his equipment to make it more powerful.  New forms can be unlocked for Jin to change into which will open up new pathways to bosses and treasure.

The game will feature:

  • Six forms to change into, each with unique combat and platforming abilities.
  • New paths and secrets with special equipment that can be unlocked with magic weapons.
  • Over 15 hours of adventure.
  • Hand Drawn animations that bring the characters to life.
  • Well known Japanese composers provide the soundtrack including Yuzo Koshiro, Motoi Sakuraba, Michiru Yamane, Keiki Kobayashi and Takeshi Yanagawa.
  • Full HD graphics at 60 fps: the game supports 1080p/60fps in TV mode and 720p/60fps in Nintendo Switch handheld mode.

Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom will be available on the Xbox One, PS4 and Switch later this year, however, if you are lucky enough to get to E3 this year you can check out the playable Nintendo Switch demo at the SEGA booth in West Hall, booth number 5222.
