New trailer for The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch

October 3, 2014 by Gary Collinson

Ahead of its release next month, a new trailer has arrived online for The Imitation Game, Morten Tyldum’s (Headhunters) World War II drama starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the British codebreaker Alan Turing, check it out below after the official synopsis and read our review of the film here…

The Imitation Game is a dramatic portrayal of the life and work of one of Britain’s most extraordinary unsung heroes, Alan Turing. The pioneer of modern-day computing, Turing is credited with cracking the German Enigma code and the film is a nail-biting race against time by Turing and his brilliant team at Britain’s top-secret code-breaking centre, Bletchley Park, during the darkest days of World War II. Turing, whose contributions and genius significantly shortened the war, saving thousands of lives, was the eventual victim of an unenlightened British Establishment, but his work and legacy live on.

The Imitation Game is set for release in the UK on November 14th and the US on November 21st, with a cast that also includes Keira Knightley (Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit), Charles Dance (Game of Thrones), Matthew Goode (Watchmen), Mark Strong (Kick-Ass) Allen Leech (Downton Abbey) and Rory Kinnear (Penny Dreadful).
