Nintendo reveal Super Smash Bros. Wii U bundles

October 8, 2014 by Tom Powter

With the reveal of the release date for Super Smash Bros. for Wii U, Nintendo have also announced several bundles for the game, coming this holiday season. As many people expected, the game’s bundles include Nintendo’s new amiibo range and the new GameCube controller adapter.

On the official Nintendo website, the company celebrated the successful release of the 3DS version and revealed the contents of two bundles coming to Europe on December 5th. The first bundle simply includes a copy of the game and a Mario amiibo, while the second bundle includes the game and one of Nintendo’s new GameCube controller adapters.

The bundles seem strangely limited to me, and I suspect we will see an actual bundle featuring the console and the game appear later on. It’s interesting to note that Nintendo aren’t currently bundling the actual GameCube controller with the game, only the new adapter, which also releases in retail on the same day as Smash Bros. The new GameCube controller itself will also launch at the same time as the game.
